Aon is seeking a Property Risk Assessment Consultant

We are excited to present a unique opportunity for a Property Risk Control Consultant within Aon's Property Risk Consulting division.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with team members and clients to identify and analyze various property risks, including those associated with fire, earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters. This role involves providing insightful recommendations aimed at minimizing the Total Cost of Risk (TCOR) for the client's property assets.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work from Texas or Atlanta, Georgia.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct property risk control and underwriting assessments for a variety of clients across multiple sectors. Oversee hydrant and fire pump flow evaluations, document sprinkler system designs, and gather hydraulic sprinkler data. Evaluate client facilities for potential fire, smoke, and other property loss risks. Generate loss expectancies for recommendations and Minimum Fire Loss (MFL), Probable Maximum Loss (PML), and Net Loss Expectancy (NLE). Guide clients on strategies to mitigate hazards to prevent losses and encourage the implementation of these recommendations. Offer technical expertise and support to global manufacturing sites, storage facilities, research and development centers, and offices regarding fire safety, alarm systems, code compliance, and overall loss prevention. Perform general fire protection consulting visits to various client sites. Employ problem-solving skills using Client Standards, NFPA, FM Global, or other recognized methodologies to address technical fire protection challenges. Review architectural and engineering plans for client facilities (including new constructions, expansions, or renovations) concerning fire sprinkler systems, water supply, and fire alarm systems, providing constructive feedback. Participate in facility design and construction meetings to offer insights on fire loss prevention and fire protection engineering matters. Formulate cost-effective strategies to address recommendations for fire loss prevention. Investigate fire incidents and compile detailed reports and presentations outlining findings. Contribute to the annual insurance renewal process. Propose cost-effective solutions or alternatives to ensure adequate protection for buildings or processes. Support construction and new manufacturing initiatives to guarantee compliance with essential fire protection standards.

Qualifications:

Experience in a consulting capacity with a High-Value Property Insurance firm. Familiarity with manufacturing environments and associated risks. Knowledgeable in the Assembly of Construction, Occupancy, Protection, and Exposure (COPE) Data. Proficient in understanding, interpreting, and applying NFPA and/or FM Global standards; capable of evaluating fire protection systems (automatic sprinklers, specialized extinguishing systems, etc.). The ideal candidate should be self-reliant, organized, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be physically fit and able to navigate ladders and stairs to access various areas within client sites during assessments. Previous experience assessing high-hazard environments (flammable liquids, combustible dusts, etc.) is preferred. Travel exceeding 50 miles from the office is anticipated 75% of the time. Ability to work remotely.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a minimum of 5 years of experience in Highly Protected Risk engineering or consulting.
