Executive Director (ED) Global Medical Affairs (GMA) - Liver Diseases and HIV Prevention- Remote

Responsibilities:

The ED GMA-Liver Diseases and HIV Prevention is a key position serving the Global Medical Affairs

Liver, Inflammation, Fibrosis and Established products (LIFE) and HIV Prevention teams. The ED GMA-Liver Diseases & HIV Prevention will be supporting Gilead's efforts towards EHE (Ending the HIV Epidemic for Everyone Everywhere) and the WHO viral hepatitis elimination goals by focusing on patient finding, access to HIV Prevention and early treatment across HIV, Hepatitis B, C and D and will be reporting directly to the VP of GMA LIFE &PREVENTION. This individual will be leading cross functional communication and collaboration to ensure superb execution of the global strategy. An integral part of the Liver and HIV Prevention Global Medical Affairs strategy will be overseeing and maintaining the tenor of Gilead's scientific communications. The ED GMA-Liver Diseases & HIV Prevention will support all efforts to plan and execute a robust scientific communication and education plan with the community of health care professionals and other key external stakeholders, ensuring the creation of high-quality scientific content outputs such as slide decks, medical presentations at conferences, advisory boards and other meetings. The ED GMA-Liver Diseases & HIV Prevention will collaborate with colleagues throughout the Gilead organization as well as with the external investigator community and other key external stakeholders.

The key functions of this role are to:

Key partner in developing and communicating scientific data and other medical affairs materials to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.Prepares presentation materials and presents scientific data at internal and external programs such as advisory boards, Gilead sponsored medical education programs.Identify opportunities for alignment and synergies within HIV Prevention, & HIV Treatment, HCV, HBV and HDV, on e.g. awareness, patient finding and SLTC activities, and champion implementation projects both internally and externallyDelivers high quality training for Gilead's Liver and HIV Prevention teamsDrive collaboration with MAR/RWE/GV&A regarding real world evidence generation, on health economics and outcomes research projects according to IEPs across HCV, HBV, HDV and & HIV Prevention.Key scientific reviewer for study concepts, abstracts, and manuscripts.Voice expertise and ultimately lead Gilead's Medical Affairs Research Sub-Team (MAST) for Liver and HIV Prevention Investigator- Sponsored and Collaborative Research program in collaboration with MAR research teamAssess medical education needs in the healthcare environment regarding viral hepatitis and collaborate with Independent Medical Education Department to assure that appropriate programs are reviewed and supported.Key scientific reviewer for concepts, abstracts, manuscripts including early data analysisCollaborates with Clinical Research, PA, GA, Regulatory Affairs, GCSO as neededWork with & HIV Prevention and Liver Medical Affairs colleagues worldwide to pull through scientific and healthcare policy communications and publications from investigator-sponsored research projects.Provide inspirational leadership to the Global MA HIV PREVENTION and LIVER teams by creating an environment of collaboration, partnership, mutual respect, and shared goals with clear responsibilities.Exhibit Gilead's core values: integrity, teamwork, accountability, excellence, & inclusion in accordance with the highest ethical and compliance standards, including Gilead's Code of Ethics and Business Conduct policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements

Specific Job Requirements

Knowledge, Experience & Skills
M.D. with extensive clinical experience in Infectious Diseases or Clinical Virology robust experience in viral hepatitis and HIV preferred.14+ years' experience in Viral Hepatitis/HIV prevention/treatment clinical practice, research, and medical education.Flexibility to travel is required.

The salary range for this position is: $310, $401, Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
