Executive Director, US Medical Affairs Strategy - HIV Treatment

At Gilead Sciences, we're committed to creating a healthier world for all people. As a key member of our US Medical Affairs team, you'll play a critical role in developing and driving our USMA Strategy and annual medical planning for HIV Treatment. This role requires a strong understanding of the US medical landscape and the ability to provide scientific leadership at key US conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the USMA HIV Treatment Plan of Action, collaborating with colleagues across the Development and US organization.
  • Represent the US perspective and needs in cross-functional meetings, working closely with Clinical Development, Global Medical Affairs, US Commercial, and other teams.
  • Assess medical education needs and generate insights related to HIV treatment in the US.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the USMA HIV Treatment Strategy team, fostering an environment of mutual respect, shared goals, and talent development.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • M.D., D.O., PhD (in life sciences), PharmD, NP, or PA with over 12 years of extensive experience in HIV or infectious diseases; a minimum of 5 years of relevant Medical Affairs industry experience is required.
  • Excellent strategic and organizational skills to manage direct reports and matrix teams, with the ability to anticipate, organize, and prioritize workload on multiple ongoing projects.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to assess the validity and relevance of study concepts, protocols, data results, and publications.
  • Able to work with a level of autonomy and independence, managing budgeting/oversight of operational expenses.
