About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director, Data Science to join our team at Gilead Sciences, Inc. This is a senior leadership role that will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of data science strategies across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data science strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Lead a team of data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that drive business value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science capabilities into business processes and decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and identify opportunities to leverage data science to drive innovation and growth.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • 14+ years of progressive experience in data science, with 5+ years of team leadership responsibilities.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing machine learning/deep learning models to drive business decisions.
  • Extensive experience leading data science strategies for complex business areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute a vision in a matrix environment, working collaboratively with executive-level stakeholders.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $274,000 to $355,000, as well as a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package.
