Distribution Sourcing Specialist

This position is responsible for leading two of our preferred suppliers for the Preferred Distribution Supplier's, (PDS), Supplier-Managed Inventory (SMI) procurement team. This role will help to develop and implement key commodity sourcing strategies to satisfy all business objectives. This candidate will assist the formulation and implementation of sourcing strategies, participate on cross-functional teams to ensure that BAE Systems leverages spend, effectively utilizes resources, drives to best practices and improves overall supplier performance management. This position works closely with many internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to supply chain management, supplier quality, manufacturing, and programs. The successful candidate must be able to be an effective communicator, build mutually beneficial relationships, be willing to advance their knowledge of procurement compliance, and proactively adopt best practices and support new initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- The overall management and coordination (in partnership with the Supplier Quality Team) of a Supplier's performance and continuous improvement across PDS org scope.
- Work in tandem with Supplier Development, PDS leadership and Supplier to establish, implement and track Partnership Plans.
- Participant in Corporate Commodity Negotiations.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with PDS leadership, Team members, Business Area Procurement teams, Supplier Quality Assurance team members, internal customers and programs.
- Identify and or implement opportunities to improve existing processes in support of partnerships with our Distribution Partners.
- Facilitate technical exchanges with local Engineering communities and strategic suppliers.
- Track, monitor and assist in solving supply chain issues as they arise.
- Bachelors' Degree and at least 4 years' work experience in supply chain/procurement, or 6 years of supply chain/ procurement experience in lieu of degree.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFAR regulations and Export Control requirements
- Experience leading major procurement efforts and orders in a Department of Defense (DOD) contracting environment
- Work effectively in a remote team environment
- Strong business acumen with very good written, verbal, and listening skills
- Ability to successfully interface with supplier leadership teams
- Data driven decision maker; ensures compliance with policies and procedures
- Strong communication skills with an assertive and forthcoming professional demeanor
- Ability to operate in a demanding and dynamic culture
- Support supplier development, negotiations, administration, supplier improvement and relationship management
- Detailed knowledge and experience with enterprise ERP systems (Oracle)
- Have hands-on experience with MRP systems
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to execute/ oversee the direct procurement of electronic components, including Value-Add/Component Modification
- Proven track record in change management, continuous improvement, and sourcing strategies
- Experience with high value purchase orders and their coordination/placement
- Demonstrated ability to resolve contractual and performance issues with suppliers
- Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Project / Supplier Management experience
- Proven problem solving capabilities
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $164010
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
