Job Overview:


We are seeking a dedicated professional with a current NH Respiratory Care Practitioner license, who is also a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist and holds a valid BLS certification.


Position Summary

This role involves the assessment and analysis of arterial blood gases, patient evaluations, management of Therapist Driven Protocols, continuous mechanical ventilator oversight, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, hyperinflation therapy, aerosol treatments, and conducting pulmonary function studies. The position also includes performing emergency procedures, maintaining CPR certification, collaborating with team members, and staying updated on the latest industry trends. Responsibilities include pulse oximetry, equipment changes, and if applicable, charge duties such as workload prioritization and staff management, along with presenting educational topics to the Respiratory Therapy team.

The role encompasses all documentation responsibilities as per the charge documentation policy/procedure, including EMR, Cardex, and treatment cards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Distributing workload effectively
  • Addressing interdepartmental and departmental concerns
  • Developing schedules for Respiratory Therapists
  • Providing educational in-services
  • Conducting interviews for RT candidates
  • Performing pulmonary function testing
  • Delivering direct patient care, administering all modes of respiratory therapy as required
  • Analyzing respiratory testing outcomes
  • Managing, ordering, and storing respiratory therapy supplies
  • Performing CPR as necessary
  • Communicating effectively with patients, peers, and coworkers
  • Conducting arterial blood gas procedures and analysis
  • Providing care for patients across all age groups, including critical and emergency cases
  • Documenting therapy using electronic medical records

Qualifications

Education:

  • Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Graduate of an accredited AMA Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current NH license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)

Experience:

  • Experience in the aforementioned therapeutic modalities and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
