Work Schedule:
Full-time. Responsibilities encompass facilities and departments as designated by Imaging Services leadership, including temporary shift assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehends MRI safety principles and applies them diligently to ensure magnet safety for patients, visitors, self, and fellow staff.
- Understands MRI scanning parameters and, in collaboration with the radiologist, selects suitable technical parameters and scanning methods to guarantee high-quality clinical examinations.
- Ensures accurate patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient adequately for the examination.- Conducts MRI assessments in accordance with departmental and system standard protocols.
- Possesses knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrates appropriate anatomical positioning and multiplanar image reconstruction.
- Under the guidance of the radiologist or supervising clinician, administers contrast and medications pertinent to MRI assessments.
- Maintains proficiency in all clinical and technical aspects of the role.
- Adheres to relevant policies and procedures, including clinical documentation, billing, and electronic medical record workflows.
Essential Qualifications:
ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification -OR- ARRT(R) certification with a minimum of 1 year of full-time MRI experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in MRI or related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Continuous need for the employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patients, care providers, and visitors requiring verbal communication and the ability to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, and needs quickly and accurately, especially in emergencies.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate complex and delicate equipment with precision. This includes regular computer use and typing for documenting patient care and accessing information.- Expected to lift and utilize a full range of motion to assist patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment. Often required to navigate crowded and busy environments.
- May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
For roles requiring driving:
Expected to operate a vehicle, which necessitates sitting, seeing, and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
