We are looking for inventive, passionate Mobile experts who embrace challenges, and thrive when given autonomy to figure out solutions. As a Director of Engineering, Mobile, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our Mobile applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, user-friendly mobile experiences. Your expertise will drive the technical direction of our Android projects, ensuring robust and scalable solutions. What you'll do:

  • Drive the overall technical design of our iOS and Android applications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and share best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in iOS development.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and workflows.
  • Learn from and help shape our company's engineering culture.

What will set you up for success:

  • 10+ years of experience in Mobile development
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering Management
  • Proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin and Java
  • Deep understanding of UIKit, Core Data, and SDKs.
  • Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, third-party libraries, and integrating with backend services.
  • Passion about building delightful and high-quality mobile UI experience to our end users.
  • Broad experience in overall system design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern Mobile development tools and frameworks
  • Knowledge of UI/UX principles and design patterns specific to iOS and Android
  • Contribution to open-source projects or a strong personal portfolio of iOS and Android applications.
  • Deep understanding of iOS and Android architecture including App Clips, Deeplinks, Security, Device Management, App to App communication
  • Knowledge of Push Notifications architecture and constraints, including familiarity with Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) for iOS and Android
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, multithreading, networking, and memory management.
  • Ability to drive the design and implementation of major components of our applications, systems, and features, working across our entire engineering, product and design organization, where necessary to solve problems.

Estimated Cash Compensation for this role: $200k-$300k DOE plus equity
