Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Database Management Specialist to be based in our Seattle, Washington office who will be supporting our Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) West practice. The position is primarily remote with some in-office support needed several days per month.

This position is expected to begin in October 2024.

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

Works under supervision of a manager with other data management staff as well as environmental scientists and engineers.
Has task-level responsibility on data-oriented projects involving primarily environmental and engineering cost data.
Provides input on data management and analysis projects using a variety of software tools.
Works with peers, managers, and clients to solve data-oriented problems on multiple projects, providing consultative support and assisting with project deliverables.
Assists in the integration of data management principles into other science and engineering disciplines.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Science, Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant experience in the field.
Experience with MS Excel, specifically the ability to develop pivot tables and use other advanced features.
Experience with analytical chemistry laboratory data, field data collection techniques, or other environmental or engineering disciplines.
Experience with database systems and applications like MS Access, SQL Server, or Oracle, with the ability to read, write and understand SQL and understand the logic of procedural statements and code.
Data management and analysis experience with technical data involving engineering, environmental, analytical chemistry, or equivalent disciplines.
Degree or training in environmental science and/or data analytics disciplines.
Under AECOM supervision, ability to work with a wide range of clients and have interaction with clients' personnel.
Willingness to be trained and perform field work on environmental and engineering projects.
Ability to work with various staff in a wide range of disciplines.
Good oral and written communication skills with external and internal clients, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Experience with business analysis, business intelligence, and related tools such as PowerBI.

Additional Information
Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not offered for this position.
This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Seattle, Washington. The selected candidate must be available to work in Seattle, Washington on a scheduled basis.
Travel of 5-10% is required for this position.
