Job Title: Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW). As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain Snowflake and SQL Server environments to ensure optimal database performance and availability.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and report metrics on assigned Snowflake and SQL Server databases.
  • Identify and apply industry best practices to on-premise and cloud databases for better performance and security management.
  • Provision user roles, user accounts, upgrades, and security settings for all Snowflake and SQL Server users; perform regular user account audits.
  • Monitor database performance, storage, credit usage on Azure SQL, Snowflake, and ADLS.
  • Perform timely analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex database issues; recommend and implement approved corrective solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, health information management, or management information systems; or an equivalent combination of education and highly relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Snowflake and Azure environment administration, configuration, utilities, and tools.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in SQL Server administration, configuration, on-prem or hybrid database administration, utilities, and tools.
  • Minimum 3 years healthcare experience; managed care organization, health insurance data management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience as data steward working with business data producers and consumers.
  • Experience administering cloud database management systems such as Oracle, Redshift, GCP, etc.
  • Experience developing data management and administration requirements, functional specifications, data mapping, and supporting documentation.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodology preferred.
