Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing and implementing the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program. Ensures business unit's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
Responsibilities
- Establishes the Enterprise Risk Management reporting architecture for the Company and maintains detailed knowledge of the bank's products, services, and processes, as well as overall economic, regulatory, and financial services industry trends in order to ensure that the ERM framework and methodologies remain appropriate to address existing as well as emerging risks. Designs and implements ERM framework, policies, and tools as applicable to the role.
- Responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the Company's enterprise risk position. This includes establishing robust reporting mechanisms and conducting independent analysis and effective challenge of risk indicators against risk appetite to ensure risk exposures remain within acceptable levels and are appropriately escalated if outside of risk appetite as well as performing thematic review and aggregation of issues.
- Partners with senior leaders and business unit management to effectively institute the Enterprise Risk Management program across the enterprise. Engages as a key risk advisor with first line and control partners relative to key ERM processes. Champions the ERM framework, processes, and tools.
- Motivates, coaches and evaluates performance of direct reports to ensure that assigned tasks are performed in an effective manner. Responsible for the management of employees including staffing, compensation, performance management, training and development, succession planning and affirmative action. Responsible for the timely and effective management of Human Resources forms and documents relevant to immediate staff.
- Performs other job related miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
1. Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major in business, computer sciences or statistics/mathematics. Advanced degree is preferred.
2.
Experience:
Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in risk management, credit risk management, internal audit and/or system or process design or equivalent with minimum 5 to 7 years supervisory, management or leadership experience. Minimum 7 years in methodology development and implementation.
3. Technical Skills:
Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Relational database knowledge, strong spreadsheet proficiency and analytical skill-set. Project management skills.

Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills to include excellent writing, speaking, listening, and presentation skills. Able to work with all levels of management and employees; Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated leadership/ management and team building skills. Excellent interpersonal people skills and the ability to successfully influence and lead others without direct authority. Comfort with high levels of ambiguity and proven ability to have impact and influence. Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
