Who You Are:

The Sports Photographer shoots and edits imagery based on the content needs of the organization. Photographers may work independently or with the direction of the directors of photography or assignments group on the event or subject. They have intermediate to advanced skills in most sports photographic areas and subjects including proficiency of digital photography, video, lighting and editing, photographic technologies including transmitting content. Sports Photographers shoot a variety sports events depending on their personal expertise. From sports events with lower visibility to large scale events, like the World Cup or Olympics. Some with expertise in portraiture may work on sport client commissioned assignment and studio portraiture photography. Most are primarily a sports action shooter. Ideally they will have professional to advanced level skills in capturing key peak of action with the quantity and quality needed to support our client commitments. They will be required to travel for assignment shoots for short and long term duration. Typically this person will have have 5+ year's professional experience.

Your Next Challenge:

  • Photographs, edits and transmits imagery for editorial and/or commercial markets.
  • Will be responsible for capturing and editing imagery, including stills and video, to meet the content requirements of our organization.
  • Writes copy, captions and general metadata required for accurate descriptions of the content.
  • Maintains assigned photo and computer equipment, "gear", to ensure proper function.
  • Develops partnerships with various industry related organizations and athletes.
  • Fosters relationships in a strong team environment internally and externally.

What You'll Need:

  • The ability to consistently deliver quality imagery.
  • A minimum 5+ years experience in the industry
  • Ability to work as a team with other photographers when needed.
  • Possess superb people skills.
  • Equivalent undergraduate degree or requisite experience
  • The ability to travel, domestically and internationally, on short notice and frequently. This includes a valid passport
  • Ability to be available to cover events on-call (on a moment's notice).
  • Potential to broaden the representation of sports and athletes to more accurately represent the world in which we live and the region where you work.
  • Must be located within commuting distance of Philadelphia, PA

Professional to Expert Level Abilities of These Key Skills:

  • Digital Photography
  • Lighting
  • Image Editing (including technology experience with imaging software such as Photoshop).
  • Technical capabilities (transmitting, remote camera, digital manipulation, networking).
  • Capturing sports events, key sports action and/or studio/portraiture work.

What You Can Expect (Physical and Mental Demands & Requirements):

  • Must be physically able to work for extended periods, sometimes over days or weeks, in all environments
  • Must be physically able to travel, internationally and domestically
  • Ability and comfort with unusual working conditions: long hours; limited or exaggerated physical movement; lack of facilities; sometimes dangerous environments
  • Must be able to maneuver or travel long distances while carrying and using photographic field equipment, including ancillary technical equipment
  • Must be able to physically lift and carry between 25 and 50 lbs. of technology and photographic equipment on a regular basis
