The Role:

Moderna is seeking an experienced Director of Corporate Security Operations to drive strategic initiatives for the Security Department, which includes Brand Protection, Intelligence, Physical & Technical Security, Threat Management

This role will focus on implementing processes, practices, and systems that leverage AI and digital technologies to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and performance of Moderna and its Security Department. The ideal candidate is a highly resourceful individual with strong in-direct leadership, self-motivation, and robust program leadership skills. They anticipate needs and demands, providing logical, innovative, and creative solutions without precise direction. This person will sit at Modernas headquarters in Cambridge, MA or Norwood, Ma with the ability to flex between the locations.

Here's What Youll Do:

Serve as a strategic partner and change agent for the VP of Global Security, developing and executing the departments long-term strategic approach to ensure Moderna delivers on its key priorities. We act with urgency, driving action today to compound the lives saved tomorrow. Drive programs to enhance in-house efficiency, standardization of processes, cost controls, and strategies, and create metrics to track performance and progress against priorities. We behave like owners, focusing on collective action and prioritizing the platform over any single solution. Develop and implement a Security Department technology roadmap, incorporating AI and digital technologies to drive effectiveness and efficiency. We digitize everywhere possible, using the power of code to maximize our impact on patients. Lead the development and execution of the departments strategy with the Security Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with Modernas key priorities. We act with dynamic range, driving strategy and execution at every step. Drive culture change within the Security Department, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. We obsess over learning and pivot fearlessly in the face of new data. Create a technology investment plan and roadmap, owning Security Department technology solutions and related processes, including intranet and LMS trainings, collaboration, and departmental alignment. We pursue options in parallel to make the best choice later. Enhance the efficiency, operations, and performance of the Security Department through resource planning and workflow optimization initiatives, utilizing AI and digital technologies. We remove viscosity to encourage collective action. Develop and implement appropriate metrics and benchmarking through data analytics to measure the Security teams performance within and outside the department. We question convention because proven models don't always fuel the future. Partner with Finance and Accounting on Security Department budgeting, forecasting, and accruals, managing the departmental budget and planning cycle within the company timeline. We accept risk as the only path to impact. Ensure effective communication and coordination within the Security Department. We prioritize the platform over any single solution. Manage Security vendors, including the development of cost and performance-related KPIs and cost-efficient billing solutions. We behave like owners, focusing on building solutions that go beyond any job description. Build internal Security knowledge management processes and capabilities. We obsess over learning, continuously improving to be the best version of Moderna. Heres What Youll Bring to the Table: Minimum 10+ years of experience in strategy, global security operations and/or project management within a large organization Strong financial acumen and excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and willingness to lead as a change agent Demonstrated experience building, running, and managing Legal programs, projects, and processes Demonstrated ability to independently move projects forward by gaining support from others and to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups to set objectives, drive progress, and produce meaningful results Strong experience in technology change management, project management, business process management, and system implementation Excellent organization and planning skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in implementing and managing AI-driven security solutions, such as automated threat detection and response systems, predictive analytics for risk assessment, and AI-powered surveillance systems.
