Job Details Job Location City Hall - Chamblee, GA Position Type Full-Time Education Level GED Description JOB SUMMARY The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with City regulations related to: zoning, signage, property maintenance, building codes, business licenses, nuisances, as well as litter and soil erosion control.Code Enforcement work is completed independently, with limited instruction or assistance.The Code Enforcement Officer conducts investigations regarding various codes, ordinances and policies of the City. The incumbent refers complaints and requests to other agencies as appropriate and performs routine field investigations as assigned.Appearance at Municipal Court for Code Enforcement related citations is also required.Conducts regular on-site inspections and maintains detailed reports, as it pertains to soil erosion, illicit discharges and storm water pollution.Completes abatement process by delivering certified letters, court summons and inspections reports to interested parties.Special Requirements: Within first six (6) months of employment date, candidate shall obtain ICC Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector certification.Level 1B Soil Erosion certification from Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission to be obtained within twelve (12) months of employment date.
