CLASSIFIED POSITION(S) IN THE FULTON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

**THIS RECRUITMENT WILL ALSO BE USED TO FILL TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME POSITIONS.**

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and must be 21 years of age.

Specific License or Certification Required: Must obtain and maintain Peace Officer Standards and Training certification. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license within 30 days of becoming a resident.

Essential Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in performing essential functions and the ability to learn, understand, and apply all departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary for effective job performance.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
*All applicants must agree to and successfully pass a background investigation, drug screening, and polygraph to be considered for employment with the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.*

Must successfully meet the minimum Physical Fitness/Agility standards and testing for running, sit-ups, and push-ups. If requested, must submit to a psychological profile test. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver's License at the time of appointment. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Must conform to the qualifications as required by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Act: Be a citizen of the United States; Have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent (G.E.D.); Not have been convicted of any crime that could lead to imprisonment; Be fingerprinted and undergo a criminal record check; Be of good moral character; Successfully complete a job-related academy entrance examination.

Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to safeguard life and property, deter criminal activity, and enforce all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations. Duties include serving legal processes, providing courtroom services, preventing criminal acts, and responding to emergency calls.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Enforce local and state laws to maintain public safety and order.
2. Serve warrants and civil papers, conduct investigations, and transport prisoners.
3. Provide courtroom security and assist with proceedings.
4. Conduct security checks and manage inmate activities within facilities.
5. Patrol designated areas to deter criminal activity and enforce traffic laws.
6. Respond to emergency calls and conduct preliminary investigations.
7. Document all activities and maintain accurate records.
