Job Summary

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Public Safety Department, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce laws and regulations to prevent and investigate crimes on campus.
  • Provide emergency response and first aid services as needed.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence to support cases.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a coordinated response to incidents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with campus community members to promote a culture of safety and respect.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a Georgia driver's license within 30 days of employment.
  • Must be able to complete Georgia P.O.S.T. basic peace officer certification as scheduled by the Department.
  • Must have an insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain proficiency with a handgun and other required weapons.
  • Must pass an extensive background investigation including a drug screen and psychological exam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a peace officer with arrest authority or in a law enforcement support or security-related function.
  • Certified as a peace officer in any state.
  • Service in the U.S. military with honorable discharge.
