Senior Material Control Specialist

KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Senior Material Control Specialist to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility's location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.

Aligning with KBR's commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.

The Senior Material Control Specialist will administer production control, inventory control, shipping and receiving of materials. This role will record and prepare status reports of requested and received items.

***Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident***

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices
  • Use experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes
  • May provide guidance to less experienced team members
  • Liaise with engineering to define material requirements for purchasing and construction activities for medium to large scale EPC projects
  • Build requisitions for required material and maintain tracking and visibility of all items to the jobsite by producing numerous reports including Job Balance Reports, Buildability Reports (Fabrication & Erection), IPMS Procurement Status Report, Open Requisition Report along with numerous other reports
  • Execute system interfaces to load loose shipped materials into the material tracking database IPMS

Experience & Skills:

  • EPC Capital Project Field or comparable experience
  • Excellent MS Excel and MS Access skills

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • ERP systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle)
  • Barcoding & RFID technologies
  • Ability to read Isometric Drawings & P&ID's and performing Material Takeoffs (MTO's)
  • Integrated Project Management System (IPMS) experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in related filed
  • 5+ years of directly related experience working in a warehouse on a Major Industrial Capital Projects
  • In lieu of formal education 13 + years of directly related experience working in a warehouse on a Major Industrial Capital Projects
