Trade Development Manager

The Trade Development Manager's (TDM) priority is to develop and grow new retail business for our products in a defined geographic market.
This is an important role, as superior execution will drive brand awareness, trial, and sales volume in the local market.
Interaction with the retail account decision maker and consumers while working in the trade means the TDM performs a vital communication and brand evangelist role.
The TDM will focus on closing distribution voids at Retail Accounts as well as selling in our products to strategic accounts that include but are not limited to: Food Service/Lifestyle/Large & Small Format Chains (store level).
In addition, the TDM will identify and execute sampling, events, and other field marketing opportunities to introduce consumers to the brand and direct them to applicable retailers.
Key responsibilities include:
Identification of distribution voids and strategic target accounts as well as key existing retail accounts in conjunction with distribution partner, route planning, daily reporting, selling and merchandising activities. Development and maintenance of superior product knowledge is a must. Attention to detail, maintaining reliable and accurate management of inventory, orders, and invoices are critical to being successful in this role. The TDM will be responsible for achievement of all defined volume/distribution goals for the assigned market.
This is an entry level sales & marketing position with 1-5 years experience preferred. Essential functions of this role must be performed in the field within the assigned market.
