Summary:

Manages financial operations for designated business unit(s).

Applies the principles of research accounting within assigned areas of accountability by performing a variety of routine finance and accounting functions and transactions including but not limited to preparing, processing, analyzing, interpreting, reconciling, maintaining, and verifying the correctness of a variety of finance and accounting data related to accounts payable and receivable, disbursement, collection and close out.

Handles accounts payable, manages timely payments, and oversees expense tracking.

Processes accounts payable and ensures timely payments are made to various internal groups, external vendors, patients, and subsites based on contractual obligations, posts and tracks expenses for study and vendor accounts.

Responsible for timely clinical trial account invoicing to sponsors which matches protocol driven procedures with patient accruals/visits to ensure appropriate invoicing and reimbursement.

Creates business strategies for unit growth and resource allocation. Reconciles financials for clinical trials, tracking budgets and payments. Reviews revenue streams to resolve billing and collection discrepancies. Provides financial analyses and reports, utilizing informatics for advanced data presentation. Oversees financial reporting for the business unit(s). Gathers and analyzes reliable data for decisionmaking. Supports clinical trial billing compliance, adhering to regulations and policies. Produces reports on productivity, compliance, and financial performance. Employs various forecasting and sensitivity analysis methods to advise medical and administrative leaders. Regularly engages with leadership to assess the unit's financial status and identify growth opportunities. Crafts and negotiates clinical trial budgets adhering to regulations and institutional guidelines. Thoroughly reviews research protocols to determine necessary resources, considering all related costs and staff time. Successfully negotiates and secures trial budgets with sponsors, ensuring compliance with agreed standards and deadlines. Analyzes research protocols to segregate standardofcare from researchrelated expenses, justifying and documenting each with appropriate evidence and expert consultation. Skillfully negotiates complex trial budgets, accommodating unique scenarios such as multicenter studies or innovative research designs. Seeks to broaden services for researchers in alignment with the Cancer Institute's objectives and schedules. Builds and maintains strong relationships with industry partners and hospital departments to support organizational aims. Assesses potential ventures critically to identify viable new business avenues. Conducts comprehensive research and gathers peer feedback to pinpoint areas for enhancement, formulating wellfounded proposals for management review. Formulates and critiques policy and training documentation. Engages in initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency. Oversees clinical trial vendor agreements and departmental requirements. Collaborates with leadership to address feedback and strategize for assigned sectors. Manages the Clinical Trial Management System. Constructs calendar and financial components within OnCore. Conducts data quality assessments to facilitate revenue integrity. Monitors clinical trial processes, compiles performance reports, and liaises with leadership; may partner with IT for system enhancements. Undertakes additional responsibilities and personal interest projects as agreed upon.
