Role Overview: As the Manager of Actuarial Services, you'll be at the forefront of our commitment to health and wellness. You'll lead a team of certified and non-certified actuarial professionals, driving the development and delivery of essential actuarial work products across our diverse product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage actuarial staff to deliver high-quality work products across various initiatives and product offerings.
  • Foster the professional growth of actuarial staff, balancing educational requirements, technical skill development, and project deliverables.
  • Oversee performance management and evaluations for effective team operations.
  • Independently develop complex actuarial models while ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide peer review for actuarial work products and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Finance, and Clinical Operations.
  • Advocate for and uphold Data Governance and Data Architecture framework.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to ensure the quality and reliability of results.
  • Document processes and assumptions in compliance with actuarial standards and regulations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy standards are upheld in handling all data in accordance with HIPAA and corporate guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in actuarial science within health insurance or consulting.
  • ASA or FSA certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, either through direct management experience or mentorship.
  • Proficiency with data extraction technologies such as SQL.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to translate analytics into actionable insights.

Preferences:

  • Experience in people management.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Advanced knowledge of research and analytics methodologies.
  • Expertise in advanced statistical techniques for analyzing large datasets.
