VP & Lead Actuary- Healthcare Excess

Position Overview
Leads and manages actuarial function for pricing, value added services, marketing and product development for RGA U.S. Group Reinsurance's Healthcare Excess (HCXS) business unit.Works closely with the HCXS business unit in setting and executing strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversees actuarial pricing, product development, and value added services for the HCXS business units, ensuring adherence to pricing guidelines and controls.
- In collaboration with HCXS, sets strategy, analyzes financials, and establishes annual plans.
- Provides guidance on actuarial initiatives, valuation, and financial reporting affecting HCXS.
- Manages hiring, development, and evaluation of staff, fostering a positive work environment and mentoring associates.
- Travels for client meetings and industry events as necessary.
- Participates in the HCXS leadership team to drive strategic direction and goal achievement.
- Handles special projects and other assigned duties.
- Maintains regular attendance.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business, or related field.
- 10-15 years of life, health, or medical insurance/reinsurance experience.
- Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
- Experience in pricing or product development.
Preferred:
- 15+ years of group life, health, or medical insurance/reinsurance experience.
- 5+ years of management experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities to convey business terminology effectively.
- Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management.
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions.
- People management skills to lead, mentor, and develop associates.
