Job Summary

HRI Inc. is looking for a dedicated Paving Operator to operate heavy machinery and equipment used in asphalt paving projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of paving techniques, materials, and safety protocols.

Main Responsibilities
  • Control the movement and placement of paving materials to achieve the desired thickness and smoothness.
  • Supervise and adjust machine settings to ensure accurate asphalt distribution and compaction.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure efficient performance and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate with other team members including laborers, truck drivers, and supervisors to complete paving projects on schedule.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed to support the overall success of the project
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain a clean driving record
Skills
  • Understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Ability to work with a team and in a fast-paced environment
  • Independent work ethic and professional, positive attitude
  • Follow all company safety procedures and drug testing requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
  • Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance, use hands to move and manipulate objects, and communicate (talk and hear)
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise, all outdoor weather conditions, dust, fuel, oil, other chemicals, and airborne particles
  • Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
  • Abides by company safety and drug/alcohol testing requirements
