Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Manage the budgeting process and provide financial analysis and forecasting to support business decisions.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the agricultural, biological, or diagnostics industry is a plus.
