Position: Mining Operations Supervisor

As the Mining Operations Supervisor at Giga Energy, you will oversee the management of our bitcoin mining facilities throughout Texas and beyond.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure optimal uptime across all facilities. As the main point of contact for mining operations, you will need to stay informed about the status and tasks necessary for the effective operation of each site.

You will also liaise with external stakeholders, including hosting customers, to provide updates on the operational status of each site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management: Direct all facets of the mining operation, encompassing equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Formulate and execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee seamless operations and enhance mining efficiency.
  • Monitor mining performance metrics and devise strategies to improve hash rate and profitability.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead a team of technicians tasked with equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Offer training and support to team members to ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational best practices.
Power System Management:
  • Oversee off-grid power systems, including solar, wind, or hybrid solutions, to ensure a reliable and efficient power supply for mining operations.
  • Implement strategies to maximize power generation and usage efficiency, focusing on cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Address power system issues and coordinate with external vendors for necessary repairs and upgrades.
Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks to mining operations, such as equipment failures, power outages, or security threats, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to bitcoin mining and off-grid power systems.
Reporting and Analytics:
  • Prepare regular reports on mining performance, power consumption, and operational costs for management review.
  • Conduct data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for enhancing mining efficiency and profitability.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in bitcoin mining operations, with a solid grasp of mining algorithms and hardware.
  • Extensive knowledge of off-grid power systems, including natural gas generators, solar, or wind technologies.
  • Prior experience in managing a technical or engineering team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to overcoming challenges in remote locations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard mining software and monitoring tools.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
