invites applications for a full-time .92 FTE (exempt) Mental Health Therapist position.

The
Mental Health Therapist
provides counseling and mental health services to assist St. Kate's Counseling Center to meet its mission of promoting the mental and emotional health of students thereby enabling them to achieve their academic and life goals.

Responsibilities include:
  • Clinical work with clients. This takes the form of psychological assessment, treatment planning, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, facilitation of psycho-educational workshops, crisis management, referral to other resources. Services will be delivered mostly in-person (on site and, occasionally virtually (online).
  • Professional record keeping and collateral clinical service.
  • Consultation with various university constituencies (e.g., faculty, staff, or other members of the St. Kate's community) regarding issues of student mental health and outreach in the form of presentations and workshops on psycho-educational topics and presentations describing Counseling Center services for various university constituencies.
  • Attendance and participation in activities at staff meetings, Student Affairs meetings, and university events. During staff meetings, the employee contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental goals and programs including the development of effective dynamics among team members.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in counseling psychology or a counseling-related field.
  • Experience conducting individual mental health counseling.
  • Experience providing mental health crisis intervention.
  • Experience providing culturally proficient clinical services to diverse and underrepresented and historically marginalized clients.
  • Licensure (or license-eligibility) in Minnesota as a psychologist (LP), professional counselor (LPCC), clinical social worker (LICSW), or marriage and family therapist (LMFT)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of full-time post master's experience conducting individual mental health counseling.
  • Doctorate degree in counseling psychology or closely related field.
  • Experience working with college or university students and campus-based outreach programming.
  • Fully licensed to practice mental health counseling in the state of Minnesota.
  • Fluency in a language other than English.
