Physical Requirements
Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.

Job Summary

The major research focus of the lab is to understand the role of acute-phase protein, Serum Amyloid A (SAA) in chronic and acute inflammatory diseases, atherosclerosis and sepsis respectively.

The lab uses preclinical models to identify pathways by which SAA regulate inflammation and the development of the diseases.


The candidate will employ a variety of analytical methods to assess physiological measures of the diseases states as well as changes in gene expression, protein expression, tissue histology, and cellular morphology.

Experience in animal husbandry, cell culture, protein and nucleic acid chemistry, and microscopy are desired. Precision, attention to detail, teamwork and initiative are essential.

Analyzing experimental data, writing and presenting methods, technical reports, and research data essential for grant applications and publications are required.

Basic computer and laboratory skills, English proficiency, being able to understand and apply both verbal and written directions.
