The Senior Data and AI Specialist, acting as Sr. Manager, will lead Network AI initiatives, supervising multiple teams of managers and network data scientists. This role focuses on establishing and maintaining data-enabled AI/ML network solutions and developing short- and long-term Network AI strategies in partnership with various organizational partners. The ideal candidate will drive efficiencies across business lines through AI/GAI initiatives, data engineering, process optimization, and cloud automation. This role also includes leading proof of concepts, performing brand and business analytics, and serving as a liaison between engineering and business units.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management: Lead and manage teams to achieve results through effective direction, timely feedback, coaching, performance evaluations, and career development plans. Ensure assignments have increasing levels of responsibility and supervise tasks to ensure deliverables are on time and within budget.Continuous Improvement: Define and drive continuous development practice improvements across technical subject areas and organizations (e.g., team structure, roles, processes, tooling, security & compliance).Vendor Management: Be responsible for technical relationships with multiple vendors, driving feature and function requests for future product releases.Technical Roadmap: Develop and manage the current and future state technical roadmap in collaboration with Design and Enterprise Architecture, building and maintaining cross-organizational teams.Recruitment: Interview and hire qualified managers and team members to improve bench strength and augment product or project teams as needed.
Specific Initiatives AI/GAI Initiatives: Develop and implement AI and generative AI strategies to improve efficiencies across lines of business (LOB).Proof of Concepts & Innovation: Lead and manage proof of concept projects, driving innovation and technological solutions.Data Engineering & Process Optimization: Optimize data engineering processes and workflows to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.Experience in evaluation LLM models, model tuning and optimization suiting specific telecom use cases.Data & Process Automation in Cloud: Design and implement automated data and process workflows using cloud technologies.Apps/IP Performance & Insights: Analyze application and IP performance metrics to generate insights and improve system performance.Engineering-Business Liaison: Serve as a bridge between engineering teams and business units (Marketing/PR, Legal, Finance, TFB), ensuring seamless communication and project alignment.Brand Analytics: Conduct in-depth brand analytics to support marketing strategies and brand positioning.Business Case & New Offer Analytics: Develop business cases for new offers and perform detailed analytics to support decision-making.Network Traffic Classifications: Classify and analyze network traffic to optimize performance and security.Customer Segmentation: Implement customer segmentation strategies to enhance targeted marketing efforts and improve engagement.Contextual Marketing: Develop and execute contextual marketing strategies based on customer behavior and preferences.Network Seekers Analysis: Identify and analyze network seeker behaviors to enhance services and user experience.Data Monetization: Develop strategies to monetize data assets, driving revenue growth and business value.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in data engineering, AI/GAI, or related fields with a proven track record of driving process efficiencies and innovation.Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), data engineering tools, machine learning frameworks, and data analytics tools.Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate closely between technical and business teams.Wireless Network Experience: Experience working with 4G/5G networks, including network architecture, protocols, and call flows, is an added advantage.

Washington Pay Range : $198, $267, The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives. And since we are ALL owners, EVERY employee at T-Mobile is eligible for an Annual Stock Grant.
