POSITION SUMMARY


As an AV Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for audiovisual (AV) equipment and systems used in various settings such as conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, and other presentation environments.

You will ensure seamless operation and optimal performance of AV systems to facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and presentation.


You will help develop what is needed to ensure a successful video conference room deployment through cross training, knowledge sharing, documentation, and day-to-day interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Conduct indepth analysis and troubleshooting of audio/video issues, providing timely resolutions and proactive recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external service providers for equipment repairs, replacements, and upgrades as necessary.
  • Providing AV Technical Support to users by setup, test, maintain, operate, and tear down all audiovisual (AV) and videoconference (VTC) equipment, e.g., video data projection systems, computers, audio and videoconference equipment, microphones, video cameras, audio systems, and control systems.
  • Respond to and resolve Service Desk calls as escalated, including working with vendors to resolve complex problems.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance checks for all AV and VTC equipment.
  • Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technology equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry no more than 50 pounds of AV/VTC equipment.
  • Periodic status reports; regular updates at team meetings and well documented environment/configurations.
  • Multitasking while handling competing priorities.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Manage and troubleshoot digital signage.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AV technology and technical support.
  • Job requires some travel and overnight stays.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information technology, audio engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in technical support roles, preferably with a focus on audiovisual equipment and systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency in operating and configuring AV equipment, control systems, and audio/video signal processing devices.
  • Relevant certifications (e

g, Microsoft Certified:
Teams Administrator Associate) are a plus.

  • Industry Specific certifications (Crestron, Polycom, Microsoft, etc.) preferred.
  • Years of experience in designing and implementing audio/video solutions within the Microsoft Teams platform or similar collaboration tools.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting audio/video codecs, hardware, and network infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with end users, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational skills for documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work nonstandard hours occasionally to support events or system maintenance activities.

Qualifications:


  • Industry certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or related credentials.
  • Experience with audiovisual control systems such as Crestron, Extron, or AMX.
  • Knowledge of networking principles and protocols related to AV over IP.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Cisco Webex.
  • Experience working in educational, corporate, or hospitality environments with diverse AV requirements.
