ResponsibilitiesSupport a team of event planners responsible for organizing events and conferences for national and international visitors to a U.S. government office. Organize meals, tours, programs, documents for distribution, audio-visual needs, transportation, translation services and accommodations as required. Manage government gift locker for international visitors. Work in conjunction with a government contracting officer, government sponsors of events, and existing protocol offices to provide support. Support other team event planners in documenting best practices and practical guidance in an Event Planning guide for on-going use by the government office. Attend and participate in meetings, take meeting notes, record taskers and actions, and update the staff when necessary.Prepare briefings as appropriate.QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university field. One (1) year event planning support experience to include:Experience managing customer expectations and working directly with customers;Outstanding customer service abilities combined with initiative, judgment, creativity, and flexibility.Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft applications. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, a current SECRET level security clearance is required, and a TOP SECRET clearance preferred, with a capability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access.
