Incumbent provides emergency police, fire, and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls, and coordinating appropriate personnel and equipment.
Maintains an accurate status of emergency response equipment and personnel to assure prompt and accurate response. This equipment includes police, firefighting, hazardous materials, technical rescue and ambulance.Provides Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD) and Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) care through pre-arrival instructions to callers.
The work requires knowledge of Law Enforcement and Fire Service Terminology, techniques, procedures, equipment and apparatus, hazardous materials, confined space rescue, structural firefighting, strategies & tactics and Incident Command.
Requires knowledge of fire suppression systems, fire alarm detection equipment, and the installation's Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection System (ICIDS) Alarms.
Requires knowledge of facilities, their layout, types of structures and buildings or other similar characteristics of the installation for the purpose of dispatching emergency equipment and personnel.
