The Director of Development will report to the Head of School and is primarily responsible for leading all fundraising initiatives. This position manages a team that includes the assistant director of development for annual giving and alumni and the board relations and stewardship coordinator. The ideal candidate works well in a team environment, is energetic, creative and has excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • Create and implement a development plan that includes annual, capital and endowment fundraising initiatives in an effort to meet current and future needs of the school.
  • Foster deep relationships with current and prospective donors through strategic cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  • Work with the Head of School and Development Team to identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects.
  • Lead endowment fundraising efforts Serve on the school's leadership team to help strengthen the culture of philanthropy working with the Head of School, Director of Operations, Director of Marketing and Communications, Director of Admission, Board of Trustees and Trinity Parents Association.
  • Work with the Advancement Committee to identify and implement development goals and engage the Board of Trustees in fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Oversee development and alumni events and programming
  • Direct the school's stewardship programs to include personalized donor recognition in addition to gift acknowledgement letters and stewardship events.
  • Oversee Development Office operations, including data entry, data changes and corrections and gift entry in Raiser's Edge, gift acknowledgments and pledge collection in compliance with philanthropic best practices.
  • Provide support and be an enthusiastic presence at school events and functions. Skills and Experience

    In addition, the preferred candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Minimum of 5+ years of successful fundraising experience in non-profit. Experience managing a team Successful track record in direct, face-to-face solicitation. The ability to problem solve, think strategically and creatively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills. Must have experience using a data management system, ideally Raiser's Edge. Strong interpersonal skills. This is a full time, 12-month position. How to Apply
