The Sr Manager Pronto Excellence is a subject matter expert on all aspects of the Pronto Channel. Pronto is an urban distribution channel designed and built to serve independent customers in dense urban cores.

The program is described as best of both - combining the full assortment and services of a broadliner with the flexibility and agility of local independent distributers.

This manager will be responsible to launch new markets as well as support profitable growth of existing ones.

The manager is also responsible for growing, promoting, and improving the Pronto brand across the organization - through effective stewardship at the local market level and cross functional collaboration at the corporate level.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate implementation and execution of successful new market launch of Pronto channel
Lead any initiative(s) assigned by the VP Pronto & Recovery as needed and support other IOs when needed.

  • Exhibit consistent ownership in supporting markets post-launch as an on-going sales function. To include growth via additional routes - heavily reliant on data driven metrics along with local knowledge; streamlining routes for better efficiency and cases-per-mile driven metric; initiate and support sales promotions and blitzes; ensure markets are leveraging all marketing tools available to support profitable growth.
  • Develop and maintain consistent on-boarding processes and training of sellers, sales leaders, AMMs, VPLS, NBMs, DSO and all other stakeholders. Continuously on-board & train new hires to positions contributing to Pronto.
  • Drive effective collaboration and support from Operations and Transportation for consistent execution of Pronto customer deliveries; collaborate with these functions to develop new geographies; Ensure all routing practices are followed.
  • Ensure all Pronto Pillars as well as other elements of a successful program are adhered to by all participating markets and elevate any observed challenges to local and program leaderships.
  • Collaborate with other Commercial Excellence process owners, with the Program Office, with the Sales organization and with HR to align Pronto with broader initiatives and business objectives
  • Build strong working relationships with area and regional leadership to ensure a collaborative execution and visibility to tracking and results
  • Initiate and maintain active role in improving all presentations and playbooks while collaborating with other team members and leadership
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP Pronto & Recovery
  • Up to 80% travel required

  • Local sales, merchandising, category management and promotions management teams and coordinators; Sales Field Leaders; Operations; Operations Excellence, Commercial Excellence, Program Office, and Customer Experience process leads and managers; NBMs; ROCs; Food Fanatic chefs; Customer Service Representatives; HR; Talent Management; and Marketing

External:

  • Customers, vendors, and external consultants

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, human resources, talent management, project management, organizational effectiveness, experience design, or another relevant field OR equivalent work experience required.

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Food service or food distribution business required
  • Deployment experience, Training, Sales, organizational effectiveness, change management, consulting, or other relevant experience is preferable
  • A strong, solid understanding of sales processes is required, as is demonstrated in field expertise and credibility with the sales organization
  • Strong experience in collaborating with functions such as Sales, Operation and Marketing & Commercial Excellence strongly desired.
  • Strongcommunication skills and experience influencing peers and senior leadersas well as problem solving strength. Ability to effectively deliver high level presentations is required.
  • Track record of successful leadership on projects involving coordination across team boundaries
  • Competency identifying, establishing, implementing, and sharing best practices
  • Strong change management skills to ensure successful field deployment
  • Food service or food distribution experience highly preferred
