The incumbent provides a full range of mental health clinical services to Veterans enrolled in BHIP care including, mental health screenings, diagnostic evaluations, comprehensive treatment planning, crisis management, individual therapy, group therapy, couples/family therapy, and care coordination within the BHIP team.
The BHIP teams use Evidenced Based Psychotherapies (EBPs) to treat the full spectrum of Mental Health diagnoses.The individual will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team to include psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, social workers, licensed mental health professionals, nurses, psychology technicians.
Functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Independently complete psychosocial assessments and diagnostic interviews to assess the full range of mental health conditions and diagnoses.
Complete psychosocial assessments to determine the psychosocial functioning, including acuity, high risk or at-risk factors, and needs of the Veterans and/or their families.
Uses social work clinical training, insight, and experience to interpret data to identify treatment options.Performs insightful assessment of serious and complicated cases, makes professional decisions and recommendations for treatment for Veterans, subject to administrator and medical approval.
Possess a working knowledge and experience in use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures, including acute, chronic trauma and PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety and adjustment disorders, personality disorders, psychotic spectrum disorders, etc.
as well as common medications and their effects/side effects, and medical terminology.Must be able to diagnose mental disorders and be able to treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities.
Serves Veterans who tend to have serious frequent and severe crises, lack family or adequate community support network, be poor at self-monitoring, frequently fail to comply with instructions and treatment, and have significant deficits in coping skills and require continuing professional psychological support.
Requires a high level of skill and expertise to establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with Veterans served by the BHIP Team and CBOCs.
Works independently with Veterans and their families who are experiencing a wide range of complicated medical, psychiatric, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial problems.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with people from varied backgrounds.Work Schedule

Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
Paid Time Off:
37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave:
After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.
