PRODUCTION MANAGER
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Job Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Production Manager is a key member of the management staff, who is responsible to develop short and long-term operational plans, policies, programs, operating procedures and objectives.
The manager maintains close surveillance over daily manufacturing operations through reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure integration of workflow, timely production, budgetary conformance and utilization of staffing resources and equipment.
Essential Functions:
Act as a liaison between co-workers and management team to keep people informed on matters of communication, decisions and policiesEnsure all quality and process procedures are followed at all levels in the production departmentEnsure timely internal response to operational issues impacting customer expectations and project cycle time performanceAssist and advise others to resolve problems and implement permanent corrective actionDelegate responsibilities, provide guidance/direction to direct reports and co-workersDrive continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs and improve qualityCoordinate production with purchasing, shipping logistics, and project managementAdminister or assist in coordination of various programs such as, ISO , cost reduction, facility security, staffing and hourly wage administrationEmphasize importance of and monitor compliance to appropriate safety policies and proceduresEnsure all plant productivity, quality and safety goals are achievedProvides oversight of the calibration schedules for production equipmentPrepares reporting and is accountable for the WIP reconciliationPerforms other duties as assigned Qualifications: 5-10 years of prior operational management experience in manufacturingPossess a thorough knowledge and understanding of manufacturing systems and a good working knowledge of processes and productsFormal electronics training via military or trade school preferredOrganized with a resourceful approach toward collaborative solutions when implementing improvements and corrective actionsMust be able to maintain high level of confidentiality and discretionUnderstanding of quality principles and techniquesAdvanced teambuilding / people management skills, strong interpersonal skillsAbility to calculate production job costs and monitor appropriate manufacturing timesAble to provide guidance, direction, goals, feedback, discipline and delegate authorityStrong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to make quick decisionsDemonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-taskExperience with an ERP system (EPICOR) highly preferredKnowledge of safety practices and a demonstrated commitment to maintain themESD AwarenessExcellent verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skillsDuties will require the ability to occasionally lift 25 lbsMust have the ability to obtain security clearanceMust be able to pass a preemployment drug screening and background check Location: Onsite in Sparks, MD with a 9/80 schedule. Every other Friday OFF. Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
