Responsibilities of an Assistant Preschool Teacher:

  • Guide, support, and mentor less experienced teachers in your classroom.
  • Oversee classroom management and create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
  • Act as a positive role model to promote a love for learning and growth mindset in young children.
  • Implement the proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • Establish a secure and caring environment that encourages play and learning.
  • Regularly communicate with parents to share children's progress and achievements through various channels.
  • Collaborate with center staff to achieve enrollment and engagement goals.
  • Develop relationships with families and colleagues to create a dynamic learning environment.

Requirements:

  • State certification is mandatory.
  • Professional teaching experience of at least six months is required (one year preferred).
  • Associate degree in ECE or related field preferred; High school diploma or GED is necessary.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Must meet specific state guidelines for the role.
