The Role:

Life Edit seeks a nonviral LNP analytical development scientist with relevant experience in academia/industry. The selected candidate will support the lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation by characterizing formulations (LNP loaded with Life Edit's novel RNA-guided nucleases (RGNs)/RNPs) as they move from research to preclinical evaluation and eventual clinical advancement. The candidate should possess strong organizational and communication skills and the desire to be part of a highly collaborative and cross-functional team.

Here's What You'll Do:

As part of the nonviral delivery formulation team, you will design, develop, and optimize Life Edit's RNA/RNP nanoparticle characterization and stability assays using state-of-the-art methods.
Characterize the RNA/RNP encapsulated LNPs for their size, zeta potential, morphology, encapsulation efficiency, integrity, and stability using relevant assays (DLS, TEM, Ribogreen, CE, AGE, PAGE, UV-VIS, HPLC, etc.).
Work closely with RNA production, LNP/RNP formulation, and in vitro and in vivo team members.
Ensure adequate rigorous laboratory practices and documentation in a regulatory-ready research manner
Evaluate, interpret, and compile LNP characterization data into study reports for potential regulatory filings
Critically summarize and present data internally to interdisciplinary teams as well as externally.
Write study specific procedures for analytical methods, protocols, and reports and provide training on processes and equipment.

Requirements:
PhD in biological sciences, chemistry, material science, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or related sciences with at least a year of relevant experience or MS with at least 8+ years of relevant experience.
Must have hands on experience in RNA nanoparticle formulation, purification, and characterization assays in academia or direct experience in a biotechnology company.
Must have knowledge and experience in nanoparticle bioanalytical skills such as nanoparticle characterization and RNA/RNP quantitation assays (DLS, TEM, CE, PAGE, AGE, UV-Vis, and HPLC).
Experience working with CRISPR or base editing systems, and RNPs preferred
Demonstrates effective decision-making to steward and prioritize activities to support bench to bedside development programs
Produce formal reports for internal use and regulatory filings
Good verbal and written communication skills
