Med-Ophthalmology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh
A foundation-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, under the mentorship of José-Alain Sahel, MD, and Andrew Williams, MD. Our lab is broadly interested in the use of large datasets to understand treatment and outcomes of eye disease, with a particular focus on the role of social determinants of health in chronic eye conditions. We are currently looking to add a new postdoctoral fellow to the group to focus on a project involving a large dataset on glaucoma patients from the Intelligent Research in Sight (IRIS) Registry and on projects involving models to predict loss to follow-up or social needs from clinical datasets.
Successful candidates should have a recent MD or PhD in epidemiology or related field. Most importantly, they should be creative, possess a keen interest in epidemiology, and have a collaborative spirit.
Travel funds are available to present at national meetings.
