The Role

Heres What Youll Do

Technical Program Managers at Moderna are agile delivery leaders that balance business intent with engineering and operational tactical activities, while building and optimizing product delivery schedules. They utilize dynamic range, technical depth, and agile practices to drive product launches through the entire software development lifecycle, including technical strategy, workstream decomposition, timelines, dependency management, reporting, and delivery risk mitigation. TPMs build and leverage close relationships with software engineers, product managers and key business partners to understand product priorities and ensure that all technical deliverables are met on a consistent basis.

The Clinical Biomarkers and Biostatistics Principal Technical Program Manager will report to and work closely with the Director, Digital Product Management to ensure the implementation of new solutions and improvement of existing systems for the Moderna Clinical Development Organization (CDO). This role will help shape and deliver the long-term strategic vision for the CDO spanning across multiple workstreams. This opportunity is unique in the pace and speed we expect and achieve.

A successful candidate will have an established track record in cross-functional program initiatives, have broad and deep technical knowledge, have demonstrated problem solving skills, excellent schedule/delivery management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced collaborative environment. Additionally, a successful candidate will have the ability to quickly earn trust with the teams they engage with, foster a positive program environment, and come to each discussion, deliverable, and issue with a "can do" attitude.

Lead Projects to improve functional, technical, configuration and development for the Digital landscape supporting the CDO organization. Act as the Principal Technical Project Manager for the Clinical systems including integrations with external sources and/or systems. Manage fast-phase projects and deliver results as expected. Propose, Lead and deploy small and medium-size continuous improvement projects within Clinical Biomarkers and Biostatistics workstreams. Independently deliver projects and initiatives in a timely and qualitative manner. Highlight potential risks and act proactively to resolve issues. Participate in the demand management process to assist the business in establishing business cases relating to new systems or potential system changes. Work independently to author System Configuration Specification, System Administration SOP, execute test scripts following GxP. Author, review and approve lifecycle documents like Impact assessment, Regulatory applicability, and criticality assessments, ERES assessments etc. Work with Clinical teams to define and implement integrations across systems. Assists in evaluation or product enhancements and capabilities, implementing upgrades as required. Support initial and routine upgrade system risk assessment and testing activities. Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time. Facilitate roadmap development across the multiple product engineering teams and help shape the overall vision for Clinical Digital products to evolving global requirements, rules, and laws. Defining Product Requirements Deeply understand customer and business needs and translate to technical requirements and develop the products trajectory, required resources, and budgets. Solving Challenges TPMs will identify cross-functional and cross-team dependencies and devise strategies to solve these challenges both at an organizational and technical level. Determining Product Timelines and Reporting Honoring product timelines is key to timely delivery. TPMs carefully plan timelines based on product priority, complexity and various other factors. They also regularly monitor the progress of specific product tasks. Analyzing and Mitigating Risks TPMs regularly assess and identify potential product-related issues throughout the lifecycle of a product and plan effective strategies to mitigate risks to ensure smooth and timely delivery of outcomes. Heres What Youll Need: Prior experience in budgeting and project reporting. Prior working knowledge of Lab Information Systems. Prior technical knowledge of clinical data in biotech organizations. Demonstrated ability to channel many points of view negotiating, cultivating and growing partnerships. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast growing, multidisciplinary organization. Self-directed and self-motivated; excellent communicator and collaborator. Experience working in life sciences, pharma/biotech, or high-tech industries with a preference for experience in one or more of eCommerce, data/machine learning platforms, or cloud infrastructure.
