Job Description

PURPOSE:


To support the selling process by preparing layouts and quotes for the sales staff and to manage the customer file by building effective relationships in an effort to profitably sell kitchen and bath cabinets on a day to day basis while meeting and/or exceeding sales and expense targets.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare layouts, quotes and bids for sales staff by creating simple to moderate designs.
  • Focus on salability of designs and option and upgrade packages that focus on increasing take per unit
  • Be able to convert or amend existing design plans/templates to varying dimensions
  • Manage contract expiration dates and files
  • Implement all price increases by updating and processing all paperwork to maintain margins
  • Monitor SAM 24 pricing report to minimize lost revenue
  • Effectively manage project deadlines and budget constraints
  • Master intermediate level of 2020 design skills
  • Remain current on all AWC product changes and introductions
  • Build effective business relationships with customer purchasing managers and design center personnel
  • Assist in resolving day to day problems with field and operations, Sales Reps and customer purchasing managers
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Additional responsibilities include:

preparation and review of kitchen cabinet layouts and designs for function, aesthetics and cost; blueprint reading; and preparation of daily and monthly reports.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job typically has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, ability and competencies required.

(Education, Experience and Skills)

  • Formal technical design training from trade school or program; Undergraduate degree in design, business or related field or relative experience.
  • 1 to 3 years kitchen and bath experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of the 4 milestones
  • Skills in computer assisted design software, knowledge of 2020 software preferred
  • Knowledge of the selling process and bid preparation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive problem solving skills
  • Technical aptitude and ability to understand the construction business
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, statistical reports, and financial documents.

Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to carry out responsibilities or respond to common inquires.

Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to groups of employees and management.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts like exponents, algebra, quadratic equations and basic logic functions such as if-then-else statements.

Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical and financial math calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.


Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form and develop a plan of action to follow those instructions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.

Employee may have to lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical office environment with some travel, both in and out of town, is required. Travel is typically by car. Hours will vary as necessitated by business. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
