Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Manager is a working manager, who is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Surgery Center/Pre- Admission Testing Clinic

  • You will oversee the planning, directing and controlling of the staffing assignments in accordance with objectives and policies to insure effective coverage of the department, and maintain productivity targets.
  • You will plan and direct staff activities
  • You will participate in unit activities/operations.
  • You will create and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • You will develop a professional climate within the nursing unit/units. You will participate in unit activities.
What qualifications you will need:
  • 3+ years of experience required
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory/charge nurse position in surgery/day surgery
  • AS degree- Nursing required, BSN preferred
  • Registered Nurse license in Texas. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association as a Healthcare Provider required upon hire
  • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association as a Healthcare Provider required upon hire

St. Davids Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas. This 300+ bed facility features a 24-hour emergency department, the regions largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the internationally-renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. Davids Neuroscience & Spine Institute. The full scope of services provided at St. Davids Medical Center includes cancer care, heart and vascular care, imaging services, joint replacement and orthopedics, womens services, complex surgical services, and a Bariatric Surgery Center. The facility is home to a 60+ bed rehabilitation hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient comprehensive care.
