Medical Assistant Job Description

Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the Medical Assistant will perform a variety of client related support functions both clinical and non-clinical such as establishing and maintaining medical charts, obtaining vital signs and specimen collection of ordered tests (including blood and urine samples), completing forms and transcribing Physicians/CNP orders. The Medical Assistant will collaborate with nursing daily to perform medication reconciliation and to discuss patient concerns.

Medical Assistant Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification.
  • One year of work experience as a medical assistant with work experience in a health care facility such as a doctor, dentist, or hospital office - record keeping, working with the public, direct client contact, answering telephones and working with medical terminology or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
