Case Western Reserve University is seeking applicants for the position of Instructor of Physical Education and Head Women's Soccer Coach.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as an Instructor of Physical Education and Head Women's Soccer Coach. As an Instructor of Physical Education, you will contribute to the growth and achievement of many CWRU students through PE curriculum and instruction. As a Head Coach, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing all facets of the women's soccer program; including but not limited to roster management, player development, game preparation, and overall program success.
This is a full-time, 10-month faculty position with a competitive salary and excellent fringe benefits.
Job Responsibilities will be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Teach Physical Education classes each semester.
Act as a role model for student-athletes, promoting academic success, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Direct, hire, train, manage, and evaluate assistant coaches.
Lead the recruiting process on a national level, with a focus on high achieving and diverse populations.
Establish and communicate a positive team culture regarding – but not limited to – academic, athletic, and social expectations/guidelines.
Organize team activities – including practices, competitions, student leadership programs, community service, etc.
Develop and maintain a functional knowledge of the sport and develop new methods and strategies.
Develop engagement and fundraising opportunities with alumni, student-athletes' parents, and other donors.
Collaborate with Athletic Training Staff and Team Physician to ensure health and safety of student-athletes.
Collaborate with Sports Performance Staff to develop a comprehensive strength and conditioning program.
Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and other coaches regarding practice and playing times.
Collaborate with the Sports Information Office on related matters, to ensure that timely and accurate information is communicated appropriately.
Collaborate with the Business Office regarding budget planning, control of expenses and team travel.
Understand and adhere to NCAA and UAA compliance standards.
Participate and contribute to departmental initiatives.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
Qualifications
Previous coaching, teaching, and recruiting experience at the high school, college, or professional level.
Ability to work days, nights, and weekends/holidays – with extensive travel, both in and out of season.
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
Experience with video editing software preferred.
Understanding of NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to recruiting and eligibility.
Commitment to working with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Valid driver's license required. Requires ability to drive 15-passenger vans.
CPR/AED certified, or commitment to be CPR/AED trained.
