Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trade Skills Instructor to join our team at Home Builders Institute Inc. As a Trade Skills Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of building construction technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction
    • Develop and deliver curriculum for trade skills training programs
    • Coordinate hands-on training activities, including on-site and community-based projects
    • Demonstrate proper use of tools and equipment, with an emphasis on safety
  • Student Development and Placement
    • Assist with student recruitment, placement, and employability training
    • Monitor, mentor, and coach students to ensure their success
    • Foster positive working relationships with funders, program partners, and other personnel
  • Classroom Management
    • Perform administrative and reporting functions, as required
    • Ensure proper use, storage, and security of tools, equipment, and other resources
    • Adhere to all applicable safety protocols and regulations
Requirements
  • Ability to meet Career Technical Training requirements, including a High School Diploma or equivalent and/or any combination of work, education, and/or skills equivalent to Journey-level experience in the relevant trade
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and lead students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
Working Conditions

Usual office-type working conditions, with routine physical conditions including walking, carrying, standing, hearing/listening, and sitting. Nominal travel anticipated.
