The Supervisory Contract Specialist is a valuable member of the Office of Inspector (OIG), Office of Management (OM), Acquisitions Division.

The incumbent will serve as the Director, with responsibility for the management, administration, and implementation of the OIG-wide acquisitions totaling almost $50 million annually, and the implementation of the OIG-wide acquisitions annual financial budget, transportation management and other special programs.


Typical assignments include:


Expertise and extensive experience executing all types of contractual actions, including advance acquisition planning, requirements definition, acquisition strategy, pre -solicitation conferences, due diligence, source selection plans, technical evaluation plans, negotiations, competitive range determinations, and ultimate source selection in coordination with the program offices.

Full range of contract specializations in both the pre -award, award, and post - award environment, including the development of prototype procurements utilizing procurement initiatives and concepts such as performance -based contracting, partnering concepts, and strategic sourcing.

Facilitates major acquisitions in support of organizational requirements. Provides advice, assists senior management on contractual matters, and provides procurement support services to OIG activities.

Conducts a program of quality control to ensure that the OIG procurement program is executed in accordance with generally accepted procurement criteria established within the Federal Government.
