Responsibilities

Individualized Child Support: Provide one-on-one support to children, utilizing trauma-informed care and behavioral techniques to assist with regulation and redirection. Assess each child’s needs

and develop tailored plans to help them develop new skills and receive the extra care they require.

Assessment and Documentation: Conduct thorough assessments of children’s developmental needs and document observations and progress. Create and implement individualized plans to address

specific challenges and promote skill development.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, leadership, and families to support each child in every possible way. Ensure cohesive and consistent approaches are employed across different

environments and caregivers.

Family Support and Education: Provide resources and educational materials to families to help them understand and support their child’s development. Conduct one-on-one meetings with families to

discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for support at home.

Environment Creation: Design and create supportive environments within the center for children who may need different experiences at various times during the day. Ensure these environments are conducive to the child’s emotional and developmental needs.

Facilitating Trauma-Informed Environments: Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge in facilitating a trauma-informed environment. Implement practices and strategies that ensure the physical and emotional safety of all children in the center.

Continuous Learning and Development: Show a willingness to learn and develop further in the areas of trauma-informed care and child development. Engage in ongoing professional development

and be open to growth opportunities within the organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Formal training in trauma-informed care.
  • Proven experience working with children in a one-on-one or small group setting, particularly those with

heightened needs for regulation & redirection.

  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate behaviors.
  • Preferred/Willingness to receive Certification in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics
  • Effective CommunicationSkills
