About the Position


Reporting directly to the VP, Head of HR – North America, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is a key member of the team and integral to the overall success of the recruiting process. Successful candidates will be responsible for owning end-to-end management of the recruiting process, from advising the business on job description and talent market to owning and executing the sourcing strategy to advising on an effective and candidate-experience conscious interview process to offer and close. They will represent the firm’s brand, acting as an internal advocate for candidates and hiring teams at all levels throughout the interview process and must display the highest degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment in a fast-moving and multifaceted environment. The Talent Acquisition Specialist must be an agile problem solver, able to absorb new information and adjust quickly in fluid situations while providing appropriate transparency and maintaining a seamless stakeholder experience.


This is a salary based, Fixed Term position, including all company benefits. Initial fixed term is 12 months with a goal of permanent conversion.


This is a 4 day per week in office position located in midtown Manhattan very close to all major transportation hubs.


Ideal candidates will be adept at both the strategic and tactical elements of recruiting and able to build and sustain project momentum. Beyond the day-to-day management of search processes, the TA Specialist has an opportunity to contribute meaningfully as we develop and implement best practices and processes. The role is based in the New York office and will primarily support recruiting activity in our US and Canada locations.

Key Responsibilities


Search Strategy

  • Partner with the Hiring Manager and HRBP to develop a deep understanding of the role, business context, and opportunity set for any given search
  • Develop and execute a fit for purpose, multichannel sourcing strategy, inclusive of internal talent, referrals, research sourcing, targeted postings, third party recruiters when appropriate, and applicants
  • Work collaboratively, providing oversight and mentorship, with the Candidate Lead to ensure delivery of the end-to-end recruitment process, including liaising with stakeholders and recruitment partners, facilitating post interview feedback debriefs and communication, initiating offer letter generation and hire processes, and effecting a seamless hand-off for onboarding
  • Identify and nurture preferred partnerships with external recruiting firms to maximize value, including access to market intelligence, recruiter focus, and positive brand representation
  • Work with hiring managers to propose search interview design, balancing candidate and interviewer needs and anticipating and solving for potential execution risks
  • Partner with Compensation to benchmark roles accurately at the outset of a search, communicate relevant market data during the search lifecycle, and construct a fair and compelling offer proposal


Candidate Qualifications:


  • 5-10+ years of relevant professional corporate experience, including experience managing full lifecycle search from professional to executive levels in a multi-jurisdictional, fast-paced, complex environment
  • Knowledge of recruitment process, operations, and legal considerations and best practices
  • Understanding of or aptitude to learn the reinsurance industry, including its profit drivers, product types, distribution, competitive landscape, and talent characteristics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact credibly and confidently with all levels of candidates and stakeholders, including executive
  • Detail orientation; excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent judgment and discretion required to manage confidential and/or sensitive internal and external information
  • Genuine passion for candidate experience; personal drive to reflect the firm’s values and represent the hiring team throughout the search process
  • Business ownership mentality: shared sense of urgency and courage to raise process risks
  • Appreciation for hiring team needs, priorities, and scheduling challenges; drive to make things simple
  • Strong perception and agility; ability to adjust to different circumstances, personalities and shifting priorities
  • Results-orientation and common sense; practical and realistic assessment of capacity and ability to escalate when needed
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint and experience managing work in an Applicant Tracking System expected, Workday or similar and LinkedIn Recruiter experience helpful
