APS is searching for a dynamic Professional Engineer to lead and expand our professional service expertise in providing reliable underground and above-ground utility information to reduce the risks that utilities present for infrastructure projects. In this role, the Engineer will play a pivotal part growing the company’s subsurface utility engineering practice providing valuable opportunities to enhance their skills across a diverse portfolio of projects. Applied Professional Services, Inc (APS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of T2 Utility Engineers.


Since 1993, T2 Utility Engineers has provided professional Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination, services in support of infrastructure projects of all sizes and types. Using advanced technologies, our team of field technicians, engineers, and surveyors, provide quality data and professional insight to help our clients visualize, plan, and design their projects. Our mission is to provide project stakeholders with quality information, professional insight and deliverables that streamline construction, improve project safety, and set the standard for the engineering industry

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interfaces with clients to obtain work conducting business development activities
  • Develops and maintains relationships with existing and new clients
  • Report on client and competitor activities
  • Attend and participate in Civil Engineering Industry events
  • Prepare business activity and forest rep[orts
  • Reviews of composite utility files, plan sheet drawings and complete ASCE 38 compliant SUE plans in Microstation and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Demonstrates ability to manage simultaneous projects and tasks
  • Working with proposal team and respond to requests for information, proposals and/or quotations
  • Prepares work plans, assembles project team, delegates tasks and ensures compliance with scope and timely completion of tasks
  • Initiates, prepares, reviews, and participates in proposals, rate & staff hour estimate preparation, and negotiations
  • Serve as representative of APS at client meetings
  • Oversees QA/QC functions to ensure accurate and high quality deliverables to clients
  • Reviews invoices and prepares/reviews progress reports to client

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in civil engineering plus 10+ years’ experience in civil engineering
  • Must be a licensed professional engineer in the State of Washington, or in the process of obtaining their WA PE (within 1 year)
  • Civil Engineering expertise in Transportation, Water/Wastewater, or Transit a plus
  • Ability to effectively network to obtain strategic growth KPl's for new business and key clients
  • Must have strong written and oral communication, supervisory and mentoring, attention to details and accuracy, planning, decision making, problem solving
  • Preferred MicroStation, AutoCAD / Civil 3D knowledge a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination a plus
  • Must have excellent technical writing, communication and project management skills
