We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our client in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry. This role will be instrumental in leveraging data to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and drive business growth.


About the role

  • Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources, including AVEVA – Pi, Historian, and Insight.
  • Develop robust data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Create data models and structures to support advanced analytics.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex business problems.
  • Utilize predictive modeling techniques to forecast production output, equipment failures, and other critical metrics.
  • Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for process improvement.
  • Develop interactive visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Develop data-driven solutions to improve production yield, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing data-based insights.


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data science with a strong focus on manufacturing applications.
  • Expertise in AVEVA – Pi, Historian, and Insight platforms.
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.


Additional Information

  • Employment type: contract (w2 hourly or C2C).
  • Duration: 6-12 months.
  • Location: preferred Palm Beach, FL or Baltimore, MD area.
  • Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
