About the Position:
We are seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with expertise in Molecular and Cellular Biology to support cutting-edge research on the cellular mechanisms related to substance abuse and HIV biology. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful studies while working in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the study of basic principles of plant and animal life, with a focus on molecular and cellular mechanisms.
- Perform and assist with basic laboratory experiments and procedures.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret biological data regarding relationships among organisms and their environment.
- Monitor and document experimental data, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data analysis.
- Analyze experimental results to prepare detailed reports and summaries.
- Coordinate the work of biological technicians, technologists, and other scientists.
- Utilize advanced techniques such as brain tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, and image analysis software for tissue analysis.
- Dissect brain tissue, isolate genomic DNA, RNA, or protein, and analyze using qPCR methods or western blot techniques.
- Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment used in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Keep meticulous records of laboratory work in both physical and digital formats, converting them to electronic records as needed.
- Collect and analyze data, organize it into spreadsheets, and prepare graphs, reports, and summaries.
- Learn and apply new laboratory techniques and procedures as required.
