WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IN THIS ROLE?

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and enhancing the overall employee experience. This position oversees critical HR functions such as training and development, employee relations, payroll, compliance, engagement activities and other HR-related initiatives. The HR Manager collaborates with leadership to align HR practices with organizational goals and values.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Serve as a trusted advisor for all colleague relations discussions, including conflict resolution, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions.

· Assist in conducting thorough workplace investigations and provide support in coaching and counseling sessions.

· Manage monthly training programs to foster professional growth and skill development among colleagues/managers.

· Oversee leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.

· Manage workers' compensation claims, coordinating with relevant stakeholders and supporting employees throughout the process.

· Foster a workplace culture of inclusivity and respect through effective communication and proactive engagement.

· Process weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with wage and hour regulations.

· Plan, organize, and execute fun and engaging events to promote team bonding and enhance the colleague experience.

· Act as the Hotel Safety Training Liaison, ensuring all safety protocols are understood and followed by colleagues.

· Handle unemployment claims by providing accurate documentation and ensuring timely responses to state agencies.

· Serve as the hotel champion for the administration of the colleague experience survey, analyzing results and implementing initiatives for improvement.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Oregon employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance across all HR activities.

· Utilize Excel for data analysis, reporting, and maintaining accurate records of HR-related information.

· Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications - External

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in Human Resources management, preferably in the hospitality industry.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

· Strong knowledge of Oregon state labor laws and regulations.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office and other HR-related software.

· Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

· A proactive mindset with a commitment to fostering employee engagement and development.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Three years of previous Human Resources, or a related field preferred.

· Related bachelor’s degree may substitute for preferred experience.
